Three Rivers Quarter Horses is a new boutique stud located at 1200m in the high altitude country of the Snowy Mountains. Overlooking the Snowy River and the snowcapped peaks of Koscuiszko National Park, we focus on breeding a few quality quarter horses each season, with proven working bloodlines and willing temperaments for a wide range of disciplines. We believe in keeping foundation characteristics alive to breed quarter horses true to type in size, strength, the right temperament and form to function.
As an adjunct, we also enjoy Thoroughbred breeding and racing.
Our open spaces and varied terrain ensures our horses are sure-footed, confident and exposed to a wide variety of natural obstacles to negotiate. The horses live in an environment which is as natural as possible, with boulders, trees, logs, streams, dams and hills in wide open paddocks. This gives them an early start on thinking and coordination, which is needed in today's competition. They are exposed to cows, quad bikes, dogs, kangaroos, deer and other scary things at an early age.
Our own stallion, Hollywood Conman is a 2002 golden buckskin who is talented in both reining and cutting as well as being a handy type for mustering work. He is fearless and intelligent, with a kind eye and willing temperament.
