Before installng these in one season we encountered 4 brown snakes, 2 tigers and a copperhead near our house and stables and decided we really needed to do something about it. Killing snakes is illegal in NSW unless they are a direct threat to you (we consider being around the house a direct threat), and it's dangerous. We have had loss of life in our area due to snakebites and didn't want to press our luck anymore with shovels and shotguns around the horses.
These repellers are sturdy, solar powered and the best part, THEY WORK!! They have a long aluminium stake that goes far into the ground and emits a pulse that snakes hate. They retreat several hundred meters away and don't come back.
We have them around the house, stables, dam and water troughs and haven't seen a single snake in any of the areas protected by the repellers.
